Update

Well, it's been too long since I've written in here. So, I'll outline what's been going on in my training.

October 3rd: I ran the USA Space City 10-miler in Clear Lake, Texas. I finished in under 2 hours, which is OK. I would have like to finish faster, but that's OK. I'll do better next time. We got a medal for being in the first 750 to finish, which was pretty cool!

October 9th: I ran in the Calvary Crossrun 5K in Alexandria, Louisiana at Calvary Baptist Church, which is where I grew up going to church. It was a rainy day, but I really pushed myself and finished in 30:09, which is a pretty good 5K time for me. I won 3rd place (Bronze medal) in my age group, which was a pleasant surprise. Just about my whole family participated and we had lots of fun (as usual!).

October 30th: I was finally able to meet back up with the Train to End Stroke group to train. We trained in the Woodlands, which is an hour and fifteen minutes away from where I live. So, I had to get up at 4:30am...uggh!!! Well, we made it there on time (despite almost getting lost) and got started with the group...it was really dark this morning! We ran 13.4 miles and it was quite difficult...did you know they have hills in the Woodlands?!?!? 13.4 miles is the farthest distance I have ever done straight, so I'm pretty proud of that. I would have been much prouder if I would have run the whole thing, but that's for another day. Now, I'm just recovering from the distance!
